A clean tax invoice template for GST-registered businesses in India. Fill in your GSTIN and state, the customer's details and the place of supply, and the sheet works out whether the invoice needs CGST + SGST (same state) or IGST (different states). Pick one GST rate for the invoice, add your lines, and the taxes and total fill in.
This is a template, not tax advice. GST rates and invoice rules change. Check the HSN/SAC code, the rate, the place of supply and the invoice format with your CA before you use it.
Exports and SEZ supplies (zero-rated under LUT), e-invoicing (IRN and QR code) for businesses above the e-invoice turnover limit, composition-scheme bills of supply, cess, and invoices where different lines need different rates. If any of these apply to you, ask your CA.
Trakkar has GST invoicing too, and it works a little differently from this sheet. Client GSTIN and address are saved once under Finance > Clients. You pick one tax rate per invoice from your saved rates and add the lines yourself, from saved products or typed in. Invoice numbers use your prefix and a sequence that resets every Indian financial year on 1 April. TDS is recorded when you log a payment, and your clients get their own client portal login.

Charge CGST + SGST when your state and the place of supply are the same (UTGST replaces SGST in some Union Territories). Charge IGST when they're different. The template compares the two state codes for you. Place-of-supply rules have exceptions, so check unusual cases with your CA.
It keeps the math and the invoice simple, and it's how Trakkar's own invoices work. If lines need different rates, raise separate invoices.
No. Businesses that must e-invoice need an IRN and QR code from the Invoice Registration Portal. Use your accounting or e-invoicing software for those.
