Best Time Tracking Software in India (2026)

No one time tracking tool suits every Indian business. A 15 person agency that bills clients needs different things from a 300 person company running salaries. A BPO watching productivity needs something else again. So instead of a ranking, you get a "good fit for" pick for each tool, a side by side table, and a plain account of what each tool does well and where it falls short.

Disclosure: Trakkar makes this page, and Trakkar is one of the 10 tools listed below. We have tried to be fair. Every competitor price and feature on this page comes from that vendor's own pricing or product page, checked on 28 October 2026. Where a vendor does not publish something, we say so instead of guessing. The tools are listed in alphabetical order, not ranked.

How we picked and compared these tools

We started with the tools Indian buyers come across most when they search for time tracking software, plus the ones Indian HR and buying guides name most often. Then we compared them on what matters for teams in India:

  • INR pricing. Does the vendor publish a price in rupees, or only in US dollars?
  • GST invoices. If you bill clients, can the tool raise a GST invoice with the client's GSTIN?
  • Attendance and leave. Can the same tool handle clock-ins, shifts, leave and holidays, or only hours?
  • Desktop and mobile apps. Can your team track time on their computers and clock in from their phones?
  • Monitoring choices. Are screenshots offered, and are they optional?
  • Data location. Does the vendor say where your data is stored? Most pricing pages we checked don't.

We only used each vendor's own website. No review scores, customer counts or third party price lists.

How to choose the right time tracking software in India

Start with the job you need done most. Then check the price.

  • You mainly need an HR suite. Look at greytHR, Keka or Zoho People. greytHR and Keka also handle salaries. In all three, time tracking is one module in a bigger HR product.
  • You need proof of work for a remote team. Hubstaff, Time Doctor and Time Champ focus on activity, screenshots and productivity reports.
  • You only need a basic timer or clock-in for a small team. Free plans from Clockify, Jibble, Toggl Track or Zoho People may be enough.
  • You don't want screenshots at all. Toggl Track is built around that choice.
  • You run a service business and bill clients. Look for time, attendance, projects and GST invoices in one place. That's the job we built Trakkar for. Read more on our time tracking software for India page.

Before you buy, run these checks:

  1. Work out the monthly cost in rupees for your team size. Include GST, any setup fee and any forex charge on USD plans.
  2. Check whether attendance, leave or timesheets are in the plan you're pricing, or sold as a higher tier or add-on.
  3. If you want screenshots, check that they're optional and that employees can see what's captured.
  4. If data location matters to you, ask the vendor where your data is stored.
  5. Run a free trial with a small group for a week or two before you roll it out to everyone.
